Job Description

A housekeeping assistant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in assigned areas, ensuring a positive experience for guests or residents. This includes tasks like cleaning rooms, replenishing supplies, reporting maintenance issues, and following health and safety guidelines. They work under the direction of a supervisor or manager and contribute to the overall smooth operation of the housekeeping department. Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitizing:

Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and sanitizing bathrooms, kitchens, and living spaces.

Bed Making and Linen Management:

Changing linens, making beds, and ensuring an adequate supply of clean linens.

Inventory Management:

Keeping track of cleaning supplies and equipment, and replenishing them as needed.

Reporting Issues:

Identifying and reporting any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisor.

Guest/Resident Interaction:

Providing excellent customer service, responding to requests, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Following Procedures:

Adhering to established cleaning protocols, safety guidelines, and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items for extended periods.

Attention to Detail:

Thoroughness in cleaning and maintaining spaces to high standards.

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and guests.

Time Management:

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to complete work within set timeframes.

Teamwork:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Customer Service Orientation:

A positive and helpful attitude towards guests or residents.
