Position: Housekeeping Head (Construction Sites)

Department: Administration / Facilities Management

Reports to: Project Director / General Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Multiple Building Construction Sites

JOB SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Head will be responsible for managing and overseeing housekeeping operations across multiple building construction sites. This role requires ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, safety standards, and waste management compliance at all project locations. The ideal candidate will lead a team of housekeeping supervisors and staff, coordinate with site management, and maintain high standards of site maintenance throughout the construction phases.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Management

- Supervise and manage housekeeping teams across multiple construction sites

- Recruit, train, and evaluate housekeeping staff and supervisors

- Prepare duty rosters, manage attendance, and ensure adequate staffing at all sites

- Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions on safety and hygiene protocols

- Monitor team performance and provide coaching and disciplinary action when necessary

Site Operations

- Ensure daily cleaning and maintenance of site offices, cabins, toilets, canteens, and common areas

- Oversee cleaning of construction areas, pathways, and access roads

- Manage waste segregation, collection, and disposal as per environmental regulations

- Ensure proper maintenance of housekeeping equipment and supplies

- Coordinate pest control activities across all sites

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Implement and monitor safety and hygiene standards across all sites

- Ensure compliance with local municipal regulations and environmental norms

- Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all cleaning chemicals

- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections

- Ensure workers are equipped with proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Coordination & Planning

- Visit and inspect all construction sites regularly (daily/weekly basis)

- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Managers, and contractors

- Plan housekeeping requirements based on project phases and manpower

- Liaise with vendors for supplies, equipment, and specialized cleaning services

- Prepare site-specific housekeeping plans and schedules

Budget & Inventory Management

- Prepare and manage housekeeping budgets for all sites

- Track and control expenses related to manpower, materials, and equipment

- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and PPE

- Negotiate with suppliers and ensure cost-effective procurement

- Monitor consumption patterns and optimize resource utilization

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain daily housekeeping logs and inspection reports

- Prepare monthly performance reports for management

- Document incidents, complaints, and corrective actions taken

- Maintain records of training, attendance, and staff evaluations

- Track compliance with statutory requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Facility Management, or related field

- Diploma in Housekeeping Management (preferred)

- Safety certification (OSHA/NEBOSH) is an advantage

Experience

- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in housekeeping management

- At least 3 years of experience managing housekeeping at construction sites or industrial facilities

- Proven experience managing teams of 20+ staff members

- Experience handling multiple locations simultaneously

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills:

- Deep knowledge of housekeeping operations in construction environments

- Understanding of waste management and environmental regulations

- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols

- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and best practices

- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Leadership Skills:

- Strong team management and people development capabilities

- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

- Problem-solving and decision-making skills

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Communication Skills:

- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and local language

- Ability to interact effectively with site teams, contractors, and vendors

- Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution abilities

Other Requirements:

- Valid driver's license (preferred for site visits)

- Willingness to travel between multiple sites daily

- Flexibility to work extended hours when required

- Physical fitness to conduct site inspections
