Job Description

A Housekeeping Supervisor in a manufacturing unit plays a key role in ensuring cleanliness, safety, and organization within the facility. Their duties and responsibilities typically include:

Supervising Housekeeping Staff:



Manage and oversee housekeeping team members, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on time. Train new staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use. Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance to improve efficiency and quality of work.

Cleaning and Sanitation:



Ensure that all areas of the manufacturing unit, including production floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas, are cleaned and sanitized according to set schedules. Ensure proper waste disposal and management, including hazardous waste disposal where applicable. Ensure compliance with hygiene and cleanliness standards, especially in food production or sensitive areas.

Maintaining Safety Standards:



Monitor and enforce safety protocols related to cleanliness, such as the safe use of cleaning chemicals and tools. Ensure that floor areas are free of obstacles and hazards, which could lead to accidents. Manage the safe storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies.

Inventory and Supplies Management:



Oversee the inventory of cleaning materials and equipment, ensuring they are properly stocked and maintained. Order cleaning supplies as needed, ensuring that there is minimal disruption to operations due to supply shortages.

Equipment Maintenance:



Ensure that all cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, scrubbers, and pressure washers, is well-maintained and serviced regularly. Ensure that all staff are trained to operate cleaning machinery safely.

Quality Control:



Inspect cleanliness and organization of the entire facility regularly, ensuring that all cleaning tasks are completed up to company standards. Conduct periodic audits to ensure that cleanliness meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Coordination with Other Departments:



Communicate and collaborate with production, maintenance, and other departments to schedule cleaning activities around shifts and production schedules, avoiding any disruption.

Reporting and Documentation:



Maintain records related to cleaning activities, maintenance of equipment, inventory usage, and any incidents or accidents related to housekeeping. Prepare and submit reports on housekeeping activities, staff performance, and areas for improvement.
9.

Ensuring Compliance with Regulations:



Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies regarding cleanliness. Stay updated on any relevant regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments in the housekeeping protocols.
10.

Environmental Sustainability:



Promote the use of eco-friendly cleaning products and waste-reduction strategies when possible. Ensure proper recycling processes and contribute to sustainability goals.
