The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily housekeeping operations within the hospital to ensure a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role ensures compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies while supervising and supporting the housekeeping staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise housekeeping staff including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring coverage across all hospital areas. Inspect patient rooms, operating theaters, public areas, and staff facilities to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently met. Train new and existing housekeeping staff on hospital cleaning protocols, safety procedures, and infection control practices. Coordinate schedules, time-off requests, and shift coverage to maintain optimal staffing levels. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, local health regulations, and safety and sanitation standards. Liaise with nursing and administrative departments to ensure timely and effective cleaning of patient rooms, discharges, and emergency response areas. Investigate and resolve housekeeping complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner. Maintain records of inspections, staff performance, inventory, and any incidents. Support environmental sustainability and waste management initiatives where applicable. Report maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate department promptly.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years' experience in housekeeping in a healthcare or hospital setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and infection control, Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
