The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the day-to-day housekeeping operations to ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and guest satisfaction across rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas. The role involves supervising room attendants, inspecting guest rooms and public spaces, and maintaining standards of hygiene and service quality in line with the hotel's brand and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Supervision:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants and public area cleaners.
Assign tasks and allocate rooms according to occupancy and team availability.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas for cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation.
Staff Coordination & Training:
Ensure housekeeping staff are properly trained in hotel procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and support to staff to improve performance and efficiency.
Assist in onboarding and mentoring new team members.
Guest Service & Quality Control:
Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping in a professional and timely manner.
Ensure guest preferences, special requests, and VIP amenities are delivered accurately.
Monitor room readiness and collaborate with the front office for timely check-ins and check-outs.
Inventory & Supplies Management:
Monitor usage and stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
Assist in conducting monthly inventories and managing requisitions efficiently.
Ensure proper handling and storage of housekeeping equipment and materials.
Compliance & Safety:
Enforce hygiene and safety standards as per hotel policies and local regulations.
Report maintenance issues and follow up on their resolution.
Maintain proper records of lost & found items and housekeeping checklists.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Diploma or certification in Hospitality or Housekeeping Management is preferred.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Experience in hotels or resorts preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
Leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, housekeeping management systems like Opera, Fidelio, etc.).
