Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all housekeeping activities in the hospital to ensure a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with infection control and hospital standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily cleaning and maintenance activities across all hospital areas (wards, OPD, OT, ICUs, waiting areas, washrooms, etc.). Prepare and maintain duty rosters, shift schedules, and work assignments for housekeeping staff. Ensure compliance with infection control, waste segregation, and hospital hygiene protocols. Inspect patient rooms, operation theatres, and public areas regularly to ensure cleanliness and upkeep. Maintain inventory of cleaning materials, linen, and housekeeping equipment; raise requisitions as required. Train and guide housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety measures, and behavior standards. Coordinate with Nursing, Maintenance, and Administration departments for smooth operations. Handle patient/staff complaints regarding housekeeping and resolve issues promptly. Ensure proper disposal of biomedical and general waste as per hospital guidelines. Maintain records of attendance, material usage, and inspection checklists. Monitor pest control and fumigation schedules. Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the concerned department immediately.
