oversees daily housekeeping operations to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction in the facility. This role involves supervising housekeeping staff, coordinating cleaning schedules, inspecting areas for quality, and maintaining inventory of supplies.
Key Responsibilities
Operational / Supervision
Supervise and coordinate the housekeeping team to ensure all areas are cleaned to standards (rooms, corridors, public areas, restrooms, etc.).
Assign tasks and daily work schedules for housekeeping staff.
Train new housekeeping team members on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and customer service best practices.
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, or corrective actions as needed.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance are met.
Handle guest or client requests/complaints promptly and professionally.
Quality, Safety & Standards
Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety protocols.
Maintain cleanliness checklists, logs, and records.
Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the relevant department.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Inventory & Supplies
Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
Report low stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment.
Ensure safe storage of all cleaning chemicals and materials.
Customer Service
Interact with guests/residents/clients in a courteous and professional manner.
Respond quickly to requests for additional cleaning services or room amenities.
Promote a service-oriented culture within the team.
Required Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred: Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel Management or related field).
Experience:
3-6 years in housekeeping; at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
Proven experience in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and managing teams.
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and best practices.
Attention to detail and ability to enforce standards.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
