Job Description

Though we have a outsourced Facility Management team in the Hospital, we need a FEMALE HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER, who can lead the Facility team overall and report to General Manager. The major job description for the position are as follows besides monitoring the outsourced team.

Candidates who have worked in Hospitals will given top priority.

Infection Control & Sanitation Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to hospital infection control protocols and standards, especially in ICUs, cath labs, and operating theaters. Coordinate regular audits and maintain logs for sterilization and disinfection.

Staff Supervision & Rostering

Supervise housekeeping staff, ensuring timely shift rotations and adequate staffing for 24/7 operations. Provide on-the-job training focused on healthcare-grade cleanliness standards.

Patient-Centric Cleanliness

Maintain high hygiene standards in all patient care areas, ensuring minimal patient disruption during cleaning routines. Respond quickly to cleaning requests from wards, emergency units, and patient rooms.

Linen & Waste Management Oversight

Oversee the segregation, collection, and disposal of biomedical and general waste per hospital and statutory guidelines. Ensure timely linen changes and proper handling of soiled items in coordination with the laundry team.

Coordination with Nursing & Clinical Departments

Work closely with nursing supervisors, infection control nurses, and medical staff to align housekeeping efforts with clinical needs. Participate in daily rounds or briefings to understand specific cleaning priorities.

Vendor & Material Management

Manage housekeeping supplies and stock levels, ensuring availability of cleaning agents, PPE, and equipment. Liaise with vendors for timely delivery and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.

Training & Development

Conduct regular training sessions for staff on hospital hygiene standards, infection control, personal hygiene, and waste segregation. Implement refresher training aligned with NABH/JCI standards.

Emergency Cleaning Response

Maintain a rapid response protocol for cleaning after spills, contamination, or emergency procedures. Ensure readiness during outbreaks or special sanitization needs (e.g., post-procedure sanitization).

Quality & Compliance Audits

Prepare documentation for NABH/JCI accreditation inspections related to housekeeping. Participate in internal quality audits and implement corrective actions where needed.

Customer Service & Complaint Resolution

Address patient and staff complaints related to cleanliness or housekeeping behavior quickly and empathetically. Promote a courteous, respectful attitude among all housekeeping staff toward patients and hospital staff.
