Job Summary
The Housekeeping Manager - Public Area & Room Division is responsible for overseeing housekeeping operations for guest rooms and public areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, guest satisfaction, and efficient team management.
Key ResponsibilitiesRoom Division Operations
Oversee cleaning, inspection, and maintenance of guest rooms and corridors
Ensure rooms are released on time as per Front Office requirements
Monitor room attendants' productivity and quality standards
Coordinate with Front Office and Engineering for room status and maintenance issues
Handle guest complaints related to room cleanliness and services
Public Area Operations
Supervise cleanliness of all public areas (lobby, washrooms, restaurants, corridors, back-of-house)
Ensure public areas are maintained round the clock as per hotel standards
Schedule staff to cover peak hours and events
Monitor usage and upkeep of cleaning equipment and chemicals
Team Management & Training
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping supervisors and staff
Conduct daily briefings, inspections, and performance evaluations
Maintain staff grooming, discipline, and morale
Inventory & Cost Control
Control linen, uniforms, amenities, and cleaning supplies
Ensure proper stock levels, FIFO, and cost control measures
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and monthly consumption reports
Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards
Implement SOPs and emergency procedures
Maintain lost & found records and audits
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and operational management skills
Excellent attention to detail and quality control
Effective communication and coordination abilities
Budgeting and inventory management knowledge
Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Qualifications
Degree / Diploma in Hotel Management or Housekeeping
5-8 years
of housekeeping experience, including managerial exposure
Working Conditions
Rotational shifts including weekends and holidays
Physically demanding hospitality environment
