Overall Purpose of the Role

The Housekeeping Staff is responsible for maintaining

cleanliness, hygiene, infection control, and a safe hospital environment

across all areas of Jiban Suraksha Nursing Home, in accordance with hospital protocols and statutory health standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Cleaning & Hygiene Maintenance

Clean and disinfect wards, ICU, OPD, OT areas, corridors, washrooms, and common areas regularly. Maintain cleanliness of patient beds, linens, furniture, and hospital premises. Follow infection control and sanitization protocols strictly.

2. Waste Management

Segregate and dispose of biomedical waste as per

Biomedical Waste Management Rules

. Handle general waste, sharps, and infectious waste using proper color-coded bins. Coordinate with biomedical waste collection agencies when required.

3. Support Services

Assist nursing staff in non-clinical activities when required. Refill cleaning materials, soap dispensers, and hand sanitizers. Report any spillage, leakage, or unhygienic conditions immediately.

4. Safety & Equipment Handling

Use cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment safely. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as per hospital guidelines. Report damaged equipment or safety hazards to the supervisor.

5. Discipline & Conduct

Maintain proper uniform, cleanliness, and personal hygiene. Follow duty roster, shift timings, and hospital rules. Behave politely and professionally with patients, attendants, and staff.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

Minimum literate / basic education preferred

Experience: Prior experience in hospital housekeeping preferred (freshers may apply) Skills: Knowledge of basic cleaning and hygiene practices Ability to follow instructions and work in shifts Physically fit for cleaning duties

Reporting Structure

Reports to:

Housekeeping Supervisor / Hospital Administrator

Working Conditions

Shift-based duty (Day/Night as per requirement) Emergency and holiday duties as assigned

Code of Conduct & Confidentiality

Must maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times. Must follow hospital policies, infection control norms, and safety standards. Any negligence, misconduct, or violation of hygiene protocols may result in disciplinary action.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹5,086.00 - ₹15,224.66 per month
