The

House Manager

serves as the central pillar of a luxury private residence -- ensuring that every detail, every experience, and every moment within the household reflects five-star hospitality standards.

This role bridges operational excellence with emotional intelligence -- managing the people, property, and protocols that define a refined home.


Unlike a hotel environment where each function is departmentalized, a

House Manager

operates as a self-sufficient general manager of a residence -- blending discretion, leadership, and an eye for perfection in every guest and family interaction.


Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities

Household Administration




Oversee daily household operations across departments (housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance, service, gardening, chauffeurs, security). Develop and implement

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

for residence upkeep, service standards, and guest management. Manage household budgets, petty cash, vendor payments, and inventory control. Supervise staff scheduling, uniforms, grooming, and ongoing training.

Family & Guest Services




Serve as the primary point of contact between the Principal/Family and staff. Coordinate guest arrivals, stays, and departures with seamless discretion. Ensure the home atmosphere is always ready for entertaining, from table setup to floral arrangements. Handle event coordination -- private dinners, small gatherings, or festive functions.

Property Management




Oversee property maintenance schedules, utility checks, and contractor coordination. Ensure the home remains inspection-ready at all times. Maintain household manuals (equipment warranties, appliance lists, and vendor directories). Conduct regular walkthroughs and quality checks for hygiene and presentation.

Staff Management




Lead, mentor, and evaluate the domestic team -- ensuring discipline, communication, and service consistency. Conduct briefings, role rotations, and cross-training for multi-tasking staff. Handle recruitment coordination and replacements as per family requirements.

Discretion & Confidentiality




Maintain the

highest level of trust
