Hotel Accountant

to join our team and manage the financial health of our hotel.

Position Summary

The

Hotel Accountant

will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations for Akoya Hotel. This is a centralized role that requires a comprehensive understanding of hotel accounting principles, including night audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role and a proven track record of accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations:

This includes overseeing the daily revenue audit (night audit), managing accounts payable and receivable, and handling general ledger activities.

Reconcile accounts:

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of all hotel accounts, including bank statements, credit card transactions, and guest ledgers.

Prepare financial statements:

Generate accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Budgeting and forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and provide regular forecasts to management.

Ensure compliance:

Maintain compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.

Support audits:

Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Cash flow management:

Monitor and manage the hotel's cash flow to ensure financial stability.

Reporting:

Present financial data and insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications

Experience:

Previous experience as a hotel accountant or in a similar accounting role within the hospitality industry is highly preferred.

Education:

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Opera, M3, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
