The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests. They are responsible for warmly greeting guests, managing reservations, seating guests efficiently, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant. The ideal candidate will be friendly, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor as they enter the restaurant
Manage the waitlist and reservations using a seating chart or reservation system
Escort guests to their assigned tables and provide menus
Communicate accurate wait times and monitor the flow of guests
Answer phone calls regarding reservations, hours of operation, and other inquiries
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess stand and front entrance
Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth seating and guest satisfaction
Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience as a hostess or in a customer service role is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods
Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
