The Restaurant Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. She manages reservations, greets and seats guests efficiently, and ensures smooth communication between the dining room and service staff to provide an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival.
Manage reservations and waitlists accurately.
Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
Communicate guest preferences and special requests to staff.
Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and entrance area.
Monitor table turnover and coordinate seating with servers.
Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide restaurant information.
Handle guest inquiries or complaints professionally and efficiently.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a hostess or in customer service preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer and reservation system knowledge (e.g., OpenTable, Resy).
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
