Key Responsibilities: Guest Greeting: Warmly greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant. Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus. Reservations Management: Answer phone calls and assist guests with making reservations. Maintain an organized reservation book or system to track bookings and availability. Seating Coordination: Keep track of table turnovers and assign tables to servers efficiently. Balance the flow of guests between various sections of the restaurant. Guest Services: Inform guests about daily specials, promotions, and any relevant restaurant information. Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints courteously and professionally. Waiting Area Management: Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized. Keep guests informed about the estimated wait time and offer seating alternatives when necessary. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations. Work closely with servers to coordinate table turnovers. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hostess station. Ensure menus and other promotional materials are up-to-date and in good condition. Cash Handling (if applicable): Handle cash payments accurately and securely. Follow restaurant cash handling procedures and maintain cash register accuracy. Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Friendly and outgoing personality. Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Familiarity with reservation management software (e.g., OpenTable) is a plus. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not always required. Working Conditions: Stand and walk for extended periods. Work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-stress environment. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant\'s operating hours.
