Enforce hostel rules and regulations, taking disciplinary action when necessary.
Address student concerns, homesickness, anxiety, and behavioral issues.
Ensure students follow daily routines like meal times and bedtimes.
Act as a member of the disciplinary committee.
Safety and security:
Ensure the safety and security of all residents and the hostel premises.
Conduct surprise checks to prevent students from keeping prohibited items like mobile phones or other electronics.
Handle emergencies and crises effectively.
Report any instances of harassment or ragging to the administration immediately.
Communication and reporting:
Serve as the primary point of contact for residents, communicating with parents and school administrators.
Report student issues and disciplinary cases to the principal and other relevant administrators.
Liaise with other departments to ensure all student needs are met.
Key qualifications and skills
Education and experience:
A bachelor's degree is often required.
Prior experience in hostel or residential management is preferred.
Skills:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
Good organizational and administrative skills.
Crisis management and decision-making capabilities.
Knowledge of hostel-related regulations, health, and safety guidelines.
