Location: Providence College of Engineering Campus (Residential Role)
Providence College of Engineering is seeking a mature, experienced, and dedicated Resident Warden to oversee the efficient operation of the Ladies Hostel. The ideal candidate will serve as a "disciplined mentor"--enforcing discipline and maintaining safety while providing a supportive, home-like environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
Student Welfare, Discipline & Mentorship
Mentorship: Act as a guardian and guide, providing basic counseling to students facing personal or academic stress and promoting a respectful, inclusive community.
Discipline: Monitor student behavior, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and strictly enforce hostel rules (including curfew). Address disciplinary issues promptly and fairly.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with parents/guardians regarding the welfare and conduct of their wards.
Food & Mess Management
Supervision: Personally supervise the distribution of food at meal times to ensure orderliness and equity.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of food served and minimize food waste, reporting any issues to the administration immediately.
Health, Safety & Emergency Response
Medical Emergencies: Handle health crises promptly. This includes administering first aid, accompanying students to the hospital if required, and keeping the Principal and parents informed.
Security: Coordinate with security personnel to ensure the safety of the premises. Implement and monitor safety protocols for all residents.
Operations, Hygiene & Infrastructure
Accommodation Management: Oversee room allocation, student check-ins, and check-outs.
Hygiene Standards: Conduct regular rounds to supervise the cleanliness of rooms, corridors, and common areas, managing housekeeping staff effectively.
Utilities & Maintenance: Ensure essential services (Water, Electricity, Wi-Fi) are functional. Liaise with internal maintenance teams or external vendors to fix electrical, plumbing, or carpentry issues in a timely manner.
Administration & Reporting
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate registers for student attendance, leave/night-out requests, and grievances.
Reporting: Submit timely reports to the Principal regarding hostel operations, disciplinary actions, and infrastructure requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
: Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Good academic background is preferred).
Experience
: Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hostel or residential educational facility management.
Age Limit
: Minimum 35 years.
Languages
: Fluency in Malayalam and English is mandatory for effective communication with students and management.
Skills
: Strong leadership, crisis management, and conflict-resolution abilities.
