To ensure the smooth functioning, discipline, safety, and overall welfare of students residing in the hostel by maintaining a homely environment conducive to personal and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities: Hostel Administration
Supervise daily hostel operations including accommodation, cleanliness, maintenance, and safety.
Maintain records of hostel occupancy, attendance, and student movement (in/out register).
Coordinate with housekeeping, security, and maintenance staff for hostel upkeep.
Ensure timely repairs of electrical, plumbing, and other facilities.
2. Student Welfare and Discipline
Foster a safe, caring, and disciplined environment for students.
Monitor student behavior and counsel them when required.
Implement hostel rules and ensure adherence to code of conduct.
Handle grievances, interpersonal conflicts, and emergencies calmly and effectively.
3. Health, Hygiene, and Safety
Ensure hygiene standards in rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
Monitor food quality and dining hall operations (in coordination with mess staff).
Keep a check on student health and coordinate with medical personnel for emergencies.
Conduct regular safety drills and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
4. Communication and Reporting
Maintain regular communication with parents, teachers, and administration regarding student welfare.
Submit periodic reports on hostel functioning, attendance, and disciplinary issues.
Keep records of leave applications, night-outs, and visitors.
5. Mentoring and Student Development
Act as a mentor and guide for hostel students, providing emotional and academic support.
Organize hostel activities, celebrations, and motivational sessions.
Encourage a sense of community, responsibility, and cooperation among students.
