The Hospitality Attendant is responsible for supporting and monitoring hospitality operations across the university campus, with a primary focus on ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and service in the Hostel Mess, Canteen, and Guest House. The role ensures compliance with university standards, food safety norms, and service expectations for students, staff, and guests.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Quality & Service Monitoring
Inspect and monitor food quality, taste, freshness, portion size, and presentation at the
Hostel Mess, Canteen, and Guest House
on a regular basis.
Ensure food served meets the quality standards prescribed by the university and agreed contractual terms with vendors.
Monitor compliance with
food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
as per FSSAI and university guidelines.
Check cleanliness of kitchens, dining areas, storage areas, utensils, and serving counters.
Identify gaps in food quality or hygiene and report deviations to the Hospitality Manager for corrective action.
Vendor Coordination & Compliance
Coordinate with mess contractors, caterers, and service staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Maintain records of food quality inspections, hygiene checks, and service observations.
Assist in monitoring vendor performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
Support routine audits and surprise inspections of food service areas.
Guest House & Event Support
Oversee hospitality services at the
Guest House
, including food arrangements and coordination with housekeeping staff.
Support food and hospitality arrangements for university events, conferences, and official meetings as required.
Address hospitality-related complaints and ensure timely resolution.
Feedback & Reporting
Collect feedback from students, staff, and guests regarding food quality and service.
Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports highlighting issues, observations, and corrective actions taken.
Immediately escalate any critical food safety or hygiene-related concerns.
General Responsibilities
Maintain professional and courteous interaction with students, staff, vendors, and guests.
Adhere to university policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Perform additional hospitality-related duties assigned by management from time to time.
Qualification & Experience
Diploma in Hotel Management / Hospitality Management
(mandatory).
2 to 3 years of relevant experience
in hospitality operations, institutional catering, hotels, hostels, or large-scale food service establishments.
Working knowledge of food quality control, hygiene standards, and service operations.
