Job Description

Teaching and Curriculum Development



Course Delivery:

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in hospitality management, tourism, event planning, and related subjects. This includes preparing lectures, creating assignments, and conducting exams.

Curriculum Design:

Develop and update course materials and curriculum to reflect current industry trends, technological advancements, and academic research.

Student Engagement:

Facilitate a positive learning environment through effective communication, mentorship, and academic advising.

Research and Scholarship



Conduct Research:

Engage in scholarly research in hospitality and tourism, producing publications such as journal articles, books, and conference papers.

Grant Writing:

Apply for research grants and funding to support research projects and initiatives.

Stay Current:

Keep up with industry trends, emerging technologies, and academic advancements to inform both teaching and research.

Professional Development



Industry Collaboration:

Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals and organizations to enhance academic programs and provide students with practical insights and opportunities.

Attend Conferences:

Participate in academic and industry conferences, workshops, and seminars to network and stay updated on field developments.

Administrative Duties



Committee Participation:

Serve on departmental and university committees to contribute to institutional governance and policy development.

Program Assessment:

Assist in the evaluation and assessment of academic programs, including student performance and program effectiveness.

Student Support



Advising:

Provide academic advising and career guidance to students, helping them to navigate their educational and professional paths.

Mentoring:

Offer mentorship to students through internships, research projects, and professional development opportunities.

Community and Industry Engagement



Outreach:

Participate in community service and outreach programs to promote the department and engage with the broader community.

Workshops and Seminars:

Organize and lead workshops, seminars, and other events to share knowledge and promote the field.

Administration and Coordination



Program Coordination:

Oversee specific academic programs or specializations within the department, ensuring alignment with industry standards and academic goals.

Reporting:

Prepare reports and documentation related to teaching, research, and departmental activities.
