A Hospital Unit Head manages daily clinical and administrative operations for a specific unit (like ICU, OPD, etc.), focusing on efficient patient care, staff leadership, financial performance (P&L), and regulatory compliance, bridging high-level strategy with hands-on management to ensure quality, profitability, and patient/staff satisfaction. Key duties involve overseeing operations, managing budgets, implementing policies, handling recruitment, driving quality improvement, and serving as a liaison for stakeholders, requiring strong business acumen and healthcare leadership skills. Key Responsibilities

Operations & Strategy:

Oversee daily unit functions, develop unit-specific strategies, implement best practices, and contribute to overall hospital vision.

Financial Management:

Manage unit P&L, meet financial targets, control costs, optimize resource allocation, and identify revenue opportunities.

Clinical Quality:

Ensure high-quality patient care, patient safety, and satisfaction; monitor service delivery and patient feedback.

Staff Management:

Recruit, train, mentor, and lead medical/nursing staff; manage performance, ensure adequate staffing, and resolve conflicts.

Compliance & Governance:

Ensure adherence to federal, state, and internal regulations, policies, and procedures.

Stakeholder Relations:

Act as a key contact for families, other departments, and senior management; represent the hospital in the community.

Administrative Duties:

Manage records, assist with billing/insurance, oversee equipment, and handle statutory requirements.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Education:

MHA, MBA in Hospital Management, or related field.

Experience:

Significant years (often 10-15+) in hospital administration or operations.

Leadership:

Strong people management, decision-making, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.

Business Acumen:

Financial management (P&L, budgeting), cost control, and strategic planning.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written skills for staff, patients, and families.

Medical Knowledge:

Understanding of clinical operations and healthcare standards.
DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM FOR THE HOSPITAL.

NABH (NATIONAL ACCREDITATION BOARD OF HOSPITAL & HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS) CO- COORDINATOR.

DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT TRAINING POLICY FOR THE HOSPITAL. IMPLEMENTATION OF STATUTORY COMPLIANCE,

TO AUDIT HOSPITAL POLICIES AND PROTOCOLS ADMINISTRATIVE CLINICAL, LEGAL AND TO DOCUMENT

DEVIATION AND REPORT TO THE RESPECTIVE SERVICE/SPECIALTY HEAD. DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM FOR THE HOSPITAL.

COORDINATE WITH VARIOUS COMMITTEES VIZ. INFECTION CONTROL COMMITTEE, TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT VARIOUS POLICIES IN HOSPITAL. QUALITY AUDIT

PROVIDE TRAINING TO VARIOUS DEPARTMENTAL STAFF IMPLEMENTATION OF STATUTORY COMPLIANCE

DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT PROCESSES FOR MEDICAL RECORDS DEPARTMENT AND SUPPORT SERVICES. TO AUDIT HOSPITAL POLICIES AND PROTOCOLS ADMINISTRATIVE, CLINICAL, LEGAL AND TO DOCUMENT, DEVIATION AND REPORT TO THE RESPECTIVE SERVICE/ SPECIALTY HEAD.

HANDLING MANPOWER PLANNING, RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDUCTING INTERVIEWS, SELECTION. RECRUITMENT, INDUCTION OF NEW EMPLOYEES

LIAISING WITH THE DIFFERENT CONSULTANTS FOR THE ARRANGEMENT/ SPONSORING THE TRAINING PROGRAMMES

ENSURING PROPER ATTENDANCE & DISCIPLINE OF THE EMPLOYEES, WHILE MAINTAINING A CORDIAL & PRODUCTIVE AMBIANCE.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?120,000.00 per month
