Facilitate problem solving among staff members
Participate in performance improvement activities
Assist with the orientation of new staff members
Monitor compliance with hospital policies and procedures
Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of nursing
Supervise the daily operations of the unit in the absence of the manager
Ensure that staffing levels are adequate to meet the needs of the patients
Make recommendations for the improvement of unit services
