Job Description

A hospital receptionist is a vital member of a medical facility's front desk team, responsible for greeting patients and visitors, managing appointments, handling phone calls, and performing administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. They are often the first point of contact for patients, requiring strong communication and customer service skills. Key Responsibilities:

Greeting and Directing Patients:

Welcoming patients and visitors, providing information, and directing them to the appropriate departments or staff.

Appointment Management:

Scheduling, confirming, and managing patient appointments, potentially using scheduling software or systems.

Answering Phones:

Handling incoming calls, answering general inquiries, and directing calls to the relevant personnel or departments.

Patient Record Management:

Updating patient records, verifying insurance information, and managing medical forms.

Administrative Tasks:

Performing various clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area.

Payment Processing:

Collecting co-pays and handling billing inquiries.

Maintaining Confidentiality:

Ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of patient information.
