Dispense prescribed medicines accurately and efficiently to inpatients and outpatients.
Review prescriptions for errors, interactions, and proper dosage before dispensing.
Counsel patients and caregivers on correct medication use, dosage, and possible side effects.
Maintain adequate stock of medicines, consumables, and controlled drugs as per hospital norms.
Follow
FEFO (First Expiry, First Out)
and ensure proper batch tracking and storage conditions.
Coordinate with the purchase department for timely replenishment of drugs and consumables.
Maintain accurate records of narcotics, billing, and daily issue registers.
Support doctors and nurses with information on drug availability, substitutions, and interactions.
Ensure compliance with hospital and NABH standards related to pharmacy operations.
Participate in audits, inventory checks, and periodic stock verifications.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety and infection control guidelines.
Report medication errors, near misses, and adverse drug reactions promptly.
Requirements:
B.Pharm / D.Pharm with valid registration from the State Pharmacy Council.
Minimum 6 months -3 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
Knowledge of hospital formulary, medical terminology, and computer-based billing systems.
