Job Summary



Responsible for accurate dispensing, storage, and documentation of medications as per hospital policies, NABH standards, and statutory regulations. Ensures patient safety, proper inventory control, and supports clinical teams in medication management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



1. Shall report to the Manager-Pharmacy and Director through Manager-F & A.

2. Shall possess recognized qualifications in pharmacy management.

3. Shall check stock position of chemicals, pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical necessities and requisition to the store.

4. Shall compound and dispense prescriptions.

5. Shall be responsible for bulk compounding of formulations.

6. Shall keep the work area neat and tidy.

7. Shall be responsible for the proper arrangement of items and cleanliness of the store.

8. Shall look after the refrigerators and the storage items which need refrigeration.

9. Shall report breakages, spoilage and breakdowns in his/her absence.

10. Shall arrange the pharmaceutical necessities for compounding and dispensing.

11. Shall give the Manager-Pharmacy the necessary professional assistance in the proper working of the pharmacy.

12. Shall notify the Manager-Pharmacy about non-availability, price increase, expiry and any change in the movement of supplies.

13. Shall receive the supplies along with the relevant documents and make proper entries in the cards and registers.

14. Shall inform the Manager-Pharmacy about the business correspondence to be made and to be responsible for the dispatch of the same.

15. Shall be responsible for the keeping of perpetual inventory.

16. Shall check during the first week of every month on the expiry dates of drugs.

17. Shall prepare monthly indents for supplies for the main store and receive the supplies.

18. Shall be responsible along with the Manager-Pharmacy for monthly consumption of spirits and dangerous drugs and report to the authorities.

19. Shall attend departmental meetings and in service training programmes.

20. Shall be responsible for compliance of rules and regulations of the pharmacy including the preparation of daily statistics.

21. Shall review ward medication.

22. Shall keep abreast with the statutory rules and regulations with regard to the pharmaceuticals and preparations.

23. Shall do any other work assigned by the Manager-Pharmacy/Director.
