Job Description

Medication Dispensing: Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with legal and ethical pharmacy guidelines. Ensure proper labeling and packaging of medications. Maintain records of dispensed medications and patient information. Pharmaceutical Care: Collaborate with healthcare providers to review and optimize medication regimens for patients. Provide medication counseling and education to patients on proper usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Monitor patient responses to drug therapy and adjust medication regimens as needed. Assist in the management of drug-related problems and adverse reactions. Medication Management: Maintain an organized inventory of medications and pharmaceutical supplies. Perform regular inspections to ensure the safe storage of medications. Manage medication recalls and shortages effectively. Dispose of expired or unused medications according to regulations. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for controlled substances. Participate in pharmacy audits and inspections as required. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the safety and effectiveness of medication use. Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols within the pharmacy area. Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide interdisciplinary care to patients. Foster effective communication and teamwork within the healthcare team. Assist in the preparation and review of medication orders and treatment plans.
