Core Duties and Responsibilities

Dispensing Medication:

Filling prescriptions accurately and dispensing appropriate dosages of drugs according to physician orders.

Patient Counseling:

Educating patients on how to take their medications safely and effectively, including information on side effects and storage.

Interprofessional Collaboration:

Consulting with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient prescriptions and ensure optimal treatment.

Medication Safety:

Reviewing prescriptions to check for potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications with existing conditions.

Health Services:

Providing health-related services such as administering immunizations and conducting health screenings.

Record Keeping:

Maintaining accurate records of patient profiles, prescriptions, inventory, and other relevant data.

Legal & Regulatory Compliance:

Ensuring all pharmacy operations adhere to legal standards and regulatory requirements for drug handling and disposal.
