Hospital Pharmacists: work in

hospitals and other healthcare facilities, providing specialized pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients.

Core Responsibilities:

Dispensing Medications:

Pharmacists accurately dispense medications based on prescriptions or doctor's orders.

Patient Counseling:

They provide patients with essential information about their medications, including dosage, administration, potential side effects, and interactions.

Prescription Review:

Pharmacists review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness for the patient's condition, and to identify potential drug interactions.

Drug Knowledge:

They possess extensive knowledge of medications, including their properties, uses, and potential risks.

Inventory Management:

Pharmacists are responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of medications and other pharmacy supplies.

Collaboration:

They work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Medication Therapy Management:

Pharmacists may also be involved in developing and implementing medication therapy plans for patients.

Over-the-counter medication advice:

They can advise patients on the appropriate use of over-the-counter medications for minor ailments.

Quality Control:

Pharmacists ensure the quality, safety, and proper storage of medications.

Legal Compliance:

They adhere to all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice.

Administrative tasks:
