Core Responsibilities

Medication Management

: Procuring, storing, dispensing, and monitoring all hospital medications, including manufacturing specialized preparations like IVs.

Clinical Expertise

: Reviewing prescriptions for appropriateness, checking for interactions, allergies, and monitoring patient response to therapy.

Patient Counseling

: Educating patients and families about medications, side effects, and adherence for both inpatient and discharge needs.

Team Collaboration

: Working closely with doctors, nurses, and other staff to make informed drug-related decisions and provide bedside care.
Specialized Roles

Specialized Care

: Supporting areas like oncology, pediatrics, critical care (ICU), and emergency medicine.

Education & Training

: Training pharmacy students, residents, and other staff on medication best practices.

Research & Quality

: Participating in clinical trials, quality assurance, formular management, and infection control.
