Job Purpose:

To ensure safe and effective dispensing of medications to inpatients and outpatients, maintain accurate records, and comply with all regulatory and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Dispense prescription and non-prescription medications accurately and promptly. Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriate dosage, and possible interactions. Provide correct guidance to patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage. Maintain inventory levels, place orders, and track expiry dates to avoid stockouts or wastage. Label medications properly with all required information and ensure correct packaging. Comply with hospital protocols, pharmacy laws, and Drug Control Department regulations. Maintain detailed records of dispensed drugs, controlled substances, and narcotics. Coordinate with doctors and nurses to clarify prescriptions or medication needs. Ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization of the pharmacy space. Support audits and maintain necessary documentation for inspections and licensing.

Qualifications & Requirements:

D.Pharm / B.Pharm (Registered with Tamil Nadu State Pharmacy Council) Minimum 1-3 years of experience in hospital pharmacy preferred Sound knowledge of medicines, prescriptions, and drug interactions Familiarity with inventory software and billing systems

Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and interpersonal skills High integrity and ethical standards Ability to work in shifts, including nights and weekends Team player with a patient-friendly attitude
