To dispense prescribed medications accurately, maintain stock control, and ensure safe, ethical, and NABH-compliant pharmacy operations within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Dispense drugs as per prescriptions and ensure correct dosage and labeling.
Verify prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and possible interactions.
Maintain pharmacy stock, expiry monitoring, and daily reconciliation.
Ensure storage and handling of medicines as per regulatory standards.
Maintain purchase, issue, and return records in HIS/software.
Guide patients on medication usage, precautions, and potential side effects.
Support audits, stock verification, and NABH documentation.
Comply with all statutory requirements (Drugs & Cosmetics Act, Pharmacy Council norms).
Skills & Competencies
Deep knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and storage standards.
Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
Ethical conduct and confidentiality in patient handling.
Coordination with doctors, nursing, and procurement teams.
Qualification & Experience
D. Pharm / B. Pharm with valid State Pharmacy Council registration.
Minimum 1-3 years' experience in hospital or retail pharmacy.
