Key responsibilities

Sample collection and handling:

Collecting and preparing patient specimens, such as blood, urine, and tissue.

Performing diagnostic tests:

Conducting routine and specialized tests on samples to analyze for infections, disease markers, and other health indicators.

Equipment operation and maintenance:

Operating, calibrating, and maintaining sophisticated laboratory equipment like microscopes and automated analyzers to ensure accuracy.

Data analysis and reporting:

Analyzing test results, identifying abnormalities, and accurately recording and reporting findings to physicians to aid in diagnosis and treatment.

Quality control:

Ensuring the reliability and accuracy of test results by following strict quality control procedures and protocols.

Safety and sanitation:

Adhering to safety protocols, including proper handling of infectious materials, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work area.

Patient interaction:

Interacting with patients during sample collection to ensure their comfort and provide reassurance.
