Key responsibilities

Patient guidance:

Explain financial responsibilities, help with payment plans, and assist with patient admissions and paperwork.

To convert the Op patients to IP Patient.

Insurance and pre-certification:

Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, initiate pre-certification with insurance companies, and gather clinical information as needed.

Administrative duties:

Collect necessary documents, sign-off forms, and update patient records.

Communication:

Liaise with patients, families, insurance companies, and other hospital departments to ensure smooth financial processing.

Financial aid:

Assist patients in applying for financial aid programs.

Essential skills and qualifications

Communication:

Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and empathetically to patients and families.

Interpersonal skills:

Skill in building rapport and trust with patients who may be under stress.

Organizational skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, documents, and deadlines.

Knowledge:

Understanding of medical billing, insurance policies, and financial concepts.

Education:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field like finance, business, or economics is often required.
