We are seeking a qualified Horticulturist to support the development of Miyawaki forests across India. The role includes site assessment, native species selection, on-ground supervision, and ensuring strict adherence to the Miyawaki methodology. The candidate must be comfortable with continuous travel, fieldwork, and coordination with local teams, nurseries, communities, and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct soil, climate, and site assessments; identify suitable native species.
Prepare plantation plans and technical reports as per Miyawaki standards.
Supervise land preparation, soil mixing, mulching, watering, and plantation work.
Coordinate with nurseries for procurement of healthy native saplings.
Monitor growth, pest issues, and prepare weekly reports with documentation.
Guide field teams and support community and volunteer engagement.
Ensure strict adherence to the Miyawaki methodology during all stages.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Forestry/Environmental Science (Master's preferred).
1-3 years' experience in plantation, horticulture, forestry, or restoration.
Mandatory hands-on experience with the Miyawaki method and native species.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of plant health, soil science, pests/diseases, and species selection.
Ability to manage field operations independently; good communication skills.
Willingness to travel extensively (90%) Pan India
Good documentation and reporting skills.
