2. Ensure timely sample collection of both (IP and OP), home blood collection & dispatch of samples and entering of relevant data in the registers
3.Proper handling, usage and dispose of blood, urine and faeces and other body fluids and tissues and hazardous chemicals in a safe manner
4. To operate necessary laboratory equipment in Haematology, Clinical pathology, Biochemistry and microbiology and do the maintenance as necessary
5.Performs quality control checks on instruments and equipments
6.Performs routine tests such as cell counts, urine analysis and/or other tests like streaking of culture plates and processing of samples in Biochemistry if necessary handling of autoanalysers during night shifts
7. Documentation and proper maintenance of respective forms and records in different laboratory sections.
8. Indenting required consumables and maintain the stock registers
9.Maintains safety, follow all the protocols for the waste segregation and to ensure cleanliness of lab area as per environmental and infection control standards
10.To support and participate in training and development as required
11.To be pro-active in continuing professional development
PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
+2 with DMLT or B.Sc. MLT or B. Sc paramedical course with DMLT with minimum 1 year experience in a Medical Laboratory
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Ability to perform sample collection
Ability to operate Automated Analyzers
Ability to process the samples and record the values
Knowledge on QC Levels & Westgard rules
Good communication skills
To use the Lab information system according to authorised protocols
To behave in a professional manner and cooperate with all other members of staff at all times
GENERAL TRAINING REQUIREMENT:
Awareness about Laboratory accreditation, ISO 15189:2012 - NABL requirements, CAP requirements
ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING REQUIREMENT:
Basic knowledge computer application like Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
