A Holiday Consultant is responsible for helping clients plan, organize, and book personalized holiday packages. The role involves understanding customer preferences, recommending suitable destinations, crafting itineraries, managing bookings, and ensuring a seamless travel experience from start to finish. The consultant acts as the main point of contact for clients, providing expert advice, support, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Consultation & Planning
Engage with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, budget, and expectations.
Provide expert advice on destinations, travel requirements, best travel times, and holiday options.
Create customized holiday packages tailored to individual or group requirements.
2. Booking & Coordination
Arrange and confirm flights, accommodation, transportation, tours, activities, and travel insurance.
Coordinate with airlines, hotels, tour operators, and service providers to secure reservations.
Ensure accuracy in all bookings and documentation.
3. Sales & Customer Service
Recommend upgrades, add-ons, and relevant services to enhance the travel experience.
Meet sales targets by promoting holiday packages, special deals, and seasonal offers.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and provide prompt support for queries or concerns.
4. Travel Documentation
Assist clients with visa applications, travel insurance, required documents, and travel guidelines.
Stay updated on travel regulations, health requirements, and destination-specific rules.
5. Problem Resolution
Handle booking changes, cancellations, and travel issues efficiently.
Provide alternative solutions during unforeseen travel disruptions.
6. Administrative & Reporting
Maintain accurate client records, booking files, and payment information.
Prepare and provide invoices, itineraries, and confirmations.
Report sales activities, performance metrics, and client feedback.
Skills & QualificationsEssential Skills

Preferred Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field
Previous experience as a travel/holiday consultant or within the tourism industry
Certification in travel or tourism (e.g., IATA, ABTA)
Multilingual ability is a plus
