Job Description

The Head of the CSE Department will lead all academic, administrative, and developmental activities of the department. The HOD is responsible for ensuring academic excellence, effective curriculum implementation, faculty development, smooth operations, industry engagements, and overall growth of the department.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Academic Leadership



Oversee planning, delivery, and quality assurance of all CSE programs. Ensure implementation of curriculum as per university/AICTE norms. Initiate syllabus review, course revisions, and academic innovations. Monitor lesson plans, teaching methodologies, and academic calendar compliance. Promote research, project-based learning, and student-centric academic practices.

B. Faculty Management



Lead faculty recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Conduct regular departmental meetings and maintain smooth coordination. Encourage faculty members in research, publications, FDPs, conferences, and skill upgradation. Plan workload distribution, timetables, and lecture substitution.

C. Student Development & Support



Ensure effective mentoring and counseling of students. Oversee internships, industrial training, and student technical clubs. Address student grievances and maintain discipline within the department. Promote participation in hackathons, coding competitions, and professional events.

D. Administration & Compliance



Maintain all departmental records, files, and documentation. Prepare departmental budgets, resource requirements, and procurement proposals. Ensure compliance with audit requirements, accreditation standards (NBA/NAAC/AICTE), and institutional policies. Submit academic and administrative reports to the management as required.

E. Industry Collaboration & Placements



Build partnerships with IT companies, startups, and industry experts. Coordinate with Training & Placement Cell for student placements. Arrange guest lectures, workshops, industrial visits, MoUs, and collaborative projects.

F. Research & Development (R&D)



Promote a strong research culture within the department. Guide faculty and students in project proposals, patents, and funded research. Supervise departmental labs, research centers, and technical societies.

3. Desired Qualifications & Experience



Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering (preferred). Master's degree (M.Tech/M.E.) in CSE or related field is mandatory. Minimum

10-12 years

of teaching/research experience, including administrative responsibilities. Strong publication record in indexed journals, conferences, or patents. Experience in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and academic leadership.

4. Key Skills & Competencies



Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Expertise in modern CSE domains (AI/ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud, etc.). Ability to handle academic planning, team management, and student development. High level of integrity, discipline, and professional ethics.

5. Additional Responsibilities



Represent the department in academic councils, committees, and external events. Ensure safety, maintenance, and upgradation of all laboratories and equipment. Lead departmental events such as seminars, conferences, orientation, and alumni interactions.
