The
HOD / Principal / Coordinator cum Associate Professor
will be the academic and administrative head of the College of Special Education (Intellectual Disability/ Hearing Impairment)
. The role involves leadership in academic planning, teaching, research, faculty development, compliance with RCI norms, and overall institutional growth.
Responsibilities
Provide academic and administrative leadership to the College of Special Education.
Plan, implement, and monitor academic programs as per RCI, university, and statutory norms.
Ensure effective curriculum delivery, teaching quality, and student outcomes.
Teach and guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in Special Education.
Supervise research work, dissertations, and academic projects.
Act as Head of Department / Principal / Coordinator for all academic and institutional activities.
Coordinate with RCI, affiliating universities, examination bodies, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure timely submission of reports, returns, inspections, and compliance documents to RCI/affiliating universities or regulatory authorities.
Lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, performance evaluation, and professional development.
Oversee admissions, examinations, student discipline, and academic records.
Promote and engage in research activities in Special Education.
Publish research papers in reputed journals and encourage faculty research.
Organize seminars, workshops, conferences, and faculty development programs.
Establish linkages with other academic institutions, NGOs, and government bodies.
Contribute to strategic planning, accreditation, and expansion of academic programs.
Support community-based rehabilitation and outreach programs of Kalyanam Karoti.
Foster an inclusive, ethical, and student-centric academic environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Master's Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks. M.Ed. Degree in a specific disability area with not less than 55% marks, recognised by RCI. Ph.D. in Special Education or Education, with research emphasis on Special Education. Minimum 08 years of teaching experience in Special Education at a recognized institution.
