Position Overview
PGC invites applications for the position of
Head of Department (HoD) - ITEP
, responsible for academic leadership, programme implementation, and statutory compliance of the 4-year ITEP programme.
Key Responsibilities
Lead academic planning and effective implementation of the
ITEP programme
.
Ensure compliance with
National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)
norms,
NEP 2020
, and affiliating university regulations.
Coordinate inspections, approvals, documentation, and statutory reporting.
Mentor faculty and monitor teaching-learning quality and assessments.
Oversee internships, school partnerships, and field-based components.
Promote use of
technology-enabled teaching and digital academic tools
.
Eligibility Criteria
Ph.D. in Education preferred
or a relevant discipline as per
NCTE / UGC norms
.
6-10 years of teaching experience
, including
academic leadership exposure
.
Strong understanding of
ITEP structure, NEP 2020, and NCTE regulations
.
Familiarity with affiliating university norms (preferably
Punjabi University
).
