Job Description

Role Summary

The HNI Sales Manager will be responsible for acquiring, managing, and advising High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs) to grow the firm's Assets Under Management (AUM) and generate revenue. This role requires a deep understanding of capital markets, tailored investment strategies, and the ability to build long-term, trust-based relationships with affluent clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Acquisition and Business Development



HNI Prospecting:

Systematically identify, target, and acquire new HNI clients through networking, referrals, market mapping, and utilizing the firm's existing client base.

Relationship Management:

Act as the single point of contact for the assigned portfolio of HNI clients, ensuring the highest level of relationship servicing and client satisfaction.

Revenue Target:

Achieve rigorous individual targets for new client acquisition, AUM growth, revenue generation, and product penetration across the assigned client portfolio.

Market Mapping:

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the local affluent market, competitor offerings, and wealth trends to identify and exploit business opportunities.

2. Investment Advisory and Strategy



Financial Planning:

Conduct thorough financial needs analysis, risk profiling, and goal-based planning for HNI clients to understand their specific investment objectives.

Product Recommendation:

Structure and advise on a comprehensive suite of financial products, including

Equity & Derivatives Trading, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), Mutual Funds, Fixed Income products, and Structured Products.

Portfolio Review:

Regularly review client portfolios, providing proactive advice and rebalancing recommendations based on market dynamics, asset allocation strategy, and the client's risk profile.

Research Integration:

Effectively communicate the firm's research views, market outlook, and investment themes to clients, ensuring clarity and transparency in all advice.

3. Compliance and Process Adherence



Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure strict adherence to all SEBI, internal, and regulatory guidelines regarding client onboarding, KYC, suitability, and advisory services.

Documentation:

Maintain meticulous client records, transaction documentation, and communication logs in compliance with audit standards.

Ethical Practices:

Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, integrity, and ethical behaviour in all client interactions.

4. Collaboration and Teamwork



Cross-Functional Liaising:

Work closely with the Research, Operations, PMS, and Treasury teams to ensure seamless execution of client mandates and superior service delivery.

Referral Network:

Develop and leverage a network of internal and external partners (e.g., Chartered Accountants, Lawyers) to generate qualified leads and business referrals.
Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

Graduate degree in any stream is essential. A professional certification like

NISM (Series VII and VIII)

is mandatory. Professional certifications like

CFP (Certified Financial Planner)

or an MBA in Finance are highly preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of dedicated experience in Sales/Relationship Management within a Broking House, Wealth Management firm, or Private Banking, with a proven focus on the HNI segment.

Product Knowledge:

Excellent conceptual and practical knowledge of Capital Market products (Cash, F&O), Mutual Funds, and Wealth Solutions.
