Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive

Storage Engineer

with deep expertise in

NetApp storage systems

to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-grade storage environments. This role focuses

primarily on NetApp ONTAP (90%)

, with additional exposure to other storage platforms and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, support, and monitor

NetApp ONTAP storage systems

(AFF, FAS, Cloud Volumes ONTAP). Perform

storage provisioning, capacity planning, performance tuning

, and optimization. Manage data protection solutions including

SnapMirror, SnapVault, and Snapshots

. Troubleshoot and resolve

storage incidents, alerts, and service requests

. Lead and execute

storage projects

involving deployment, upgrades, and migrations. Collaborate with

VMware, Backup, Network, and Linux/Windows teams

for seamless infra operations. Maintain and update documentation (SOPs, architecture diagrams, asset inventory). Participate in

DR planning, execution, and recovery testing

. Handle

storage lifecycle management

including patching, decommissioning, and refreshes. Provide

on-call support

as part of a rotation schedule.

Required Qualifications

6-9 years of experience as a

Storage Engineer / Storage Administrator

. Strong hands-on experience with

NetApp ONTAP

, including CLI & System Manager. Expertise with storage protocols:

NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, FCP

. Experience with monitoring tools such as

NetApp Active IQ, Cloud Insights

. Experience integrating NetApp storage with

VMware, Windows, and Linux

ecosystems. Basic scripting exposure (

PowerShell, Shell, Python, Ansible

) for automation. Good understanding of

ITIL processes, change management

, and incident handling.

Preferred Qualifications

NetApp certifications

: NCDA, NCIE (preferred but not mandatory). Experience with

VMware integration

and ESXi storage configuration. Knowledge of additional storage platforms:

Dell EMC, Pure Storage, HPE

. Exposure to

cloud-based NetApp solutions

, e.g., Cloud Volumes ONTAP. Understanding of

backup & recovery products

: Commvault, Veeam, NetBackup. Knowledge of

TCP/IP, Layer-2 Networking

concepts.
