- Developing and implementing lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school's curriculum program
- Presenting subject matter to students, using methods and technology that will help students grasp the material
- Assessing students to evaluate their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses
- Adapting lessons to different student ability levels
- Providing a stimulating learning environment in which students can grow intellectually
- Assigning and grading homework and tests, and providing feedback to students
- Working with individual students to challenge them and to improve their abilities
- Communicating with parents about students' progress
