Job Summary

We are seeking a

CPC Certified Medical Coder

with hands-on experience in

Internal Medicine and Pediatrics

to accurately review, code, and audit medical records for outpatient services. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with

CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS

guidelines while supporting optimal reimbursement and quality reporting.

Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Coding

Assign accurate

CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes

for Internal Medicine and Pediatric outpatient encounters. Code

Evaluation & Management (E/M)

services (Office Visits, Annual Wellness Visits, Preventive Visits). Apply appropriate

modifier usage

(e.g., 25, 59, 26, TC, etc.). Code procedures, immunizations, injections, and preventive services accurately.

Documentation & Compliance

Review provider documentation to ensure coding accuracy and compliance. Query providers for clarification when documentation is insufficient or unclear. Ensure compliance with

CMS, AMA, NCCI, and payer-specific guidelines

. Maintain HIPAA compliance and data confidentiality at all times.

Quality Reporting & Audits

Support

MIPS / quality reporting

using CPT Category II (F) codes where applicable. Assist with internal and external coding audits. Identify coding errors, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

Billing & RCM Support

Work closely with billing and RCM teams to resolve coding-related denials. Correct coding errors and support claim resubmissions. Assist with payer queries and documentation requests.

Required Qualifications

CPC Certification

(AAPC) - Mandatory Minimum

1-3 years of experience

in

Internal Medicine and Pediatrics coding

Strong knowledge of: CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS E/M coding guidelines (2021-2026) Preventive & wellness services Experience with

EHR/PM systems

(eClinicalWorks preferred)

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with

MIPS and quality measures

Understanding of payer-specific policies (Medicare & Commercial) Attention to detail with strong analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and meet productivity targets
