POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Subject Teacher at Balsam Academy, you 58will be an integral part of the scholastic team, reporting to the respective Subject Head. Your primary responsibility is to deliver the scholastic goals within your subject area, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for students.

I. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Curriculum Delivery:

? Deliver the scholastic goals within the subject area as outlined by the school curriculum.

? Implement effective teaching methods to enhance student understanding and engagement.

B. Lesson Planning:

? Develop detailed lesson plans that align with curriculum objectives and educational standards.

? Integrate innovative and interactive teaching techniques to meet the diverse needs of students.

C. Assessment and Evaluation:

? Design and administer assessments to measure student understanding and progress.

? Collaborate with the Assessment and Evaluation Committee to ensure fair and accurate assessments.

D. Classroom Management:

? Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.

? Implement discipline and behaviour management strategies to create a conducive learning space.

E. Student Support:

? Provide additional support to students who require assistance or remedial help.

? Identify and nurture the talents of gifted learners within the subject.

F. Collaboration with Colleagues:

? Collaborate with fellow teachers to integrate cross-disciplinary learning opportunities.

? Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions.

G. Parent Communication:

? Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.

? Attend parent-teacher conferences and meetings as required.

H. Professional Development:

? Stay updated on educational trends, teaching methodologies, and advancements in the subject area.

? Actively participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school.

I. Record Keeping:

? Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, assessments, and attendance.

? Provide necessary documentation for reporting purposes.

J. Monthly Report:

? Submit a comprehensive monthly report by the 5th of each month to the reporting officer.

II. QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject area or Education.

? Teaching certification and relevant teaching experience.

? Passion for the subject matter and commitment to student success.
