Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced

Head of Department (HOD) - English (Secondary)

to lead our English faculty and curriculum for the secondary school. The ideal candidate will bring academic expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and a vision to strengthen English language learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the English department for secondary grades in alignment with the school's vision and academic goals. Design, implement, and review the English curriculum to ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Mentor, support, and evaluate English faculty to enhance instructional quality. Foster a culture of creativity, research, and innovation in English teaching practices. Organize workshops, literary activities, debates, and other initiatives to enrich student learning. Monitor student performance, analyze outcomes, and implement strategies for improvement. Collaborate with senior leadership for curriculum development and academic planning.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum

7 years of teaching experience

as a secondary English teacher. Minimum

3 years of experience as HOD/Academic Coordinator in English

. Strong expertise in secondary school English curriculum and pedagogy. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. A postgraduate degree in English or a related field (B.Ed. / M.Ed. preferred).
