Qualification:

ITI / Diploma (Mechanical/Metallurgy) or relevant experience

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor

heat treatment furnaces

(electric - Oil Fired -batch type). Carry out processes such as: Normalizing Annealing Hardening & Tempering Load and unload furnace baskets, bogies, and fixtures safely. Set furnace temperatures, soak time, and cooling cycle as per SOP/WPS. Monitor furnace parameters: Temperature uniformity Controller settings Thermocouple readings Cycle completion logs Ensure heat treatment of bogies, castings, and components is done as per specification. Maintain daily heat treatment reports, log sheets, and traceability records. Perform basic checks on quenching tanks, cooling pumps, and agitation motors. Follow safety procedures strictly (PPE, hot metal handling, fire safety). Report any abnormalities, furnace issues, or deviations immediately to the in-charge. Assist in periodic furnace calibration and maintenance activities. Coordinate with QC for hardness, microstructure, and mechanical testing requirements. Maintain cleanliness and safe working conditions in heat treatment area.
