Job Description

JOB TITLE: :- Heat Treat Operator ITI Diploma & Mechanical

Operate and monitor heat treatment equipment (eg, furnaces, ovens, quenching systems) to alter the properties of metal parts.

Follow written procedures and quality standards to ensure parts meet specifications after treatment.

Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the heat treatment process, including performing maintenance and good housekeeping

Key responsibilities

Operation:

Set up and operate heat-treating furnaces, ovens, and other equipment

Prepare parts by loading them into furnaces.

Monitor and adjust temperature, time, and other parameters during the cycle to achieve desired results.

Unload treated parts

Quality and Control

:

Follow written procedures and customer specifications to ensure the correct heat treatment is applied

Perform inspections and tests to assess the effectiveness of the process and ensure quality standards are met.

Report any irregularities, non-conformities, or malfunctions to a supervisor.

Maintain accurate records of treatment procedures and results for quality assurance

Maintenance and Safety:

Conduct regular inspections of equipment and materials

Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality and accuracy

Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and orderly work area

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Technical Skills:

Ability to operate and monitor heat treatment equipment.

Knowledge of heat treatment processes such as hardening, tempering, annealing, quenching and stress relieving

Understanding of material properties and how they are affected by heat treatment

Ability to read and interpret technical plans and instructions

Experience & qualifications:

1-3 YEARS IN A MECHANICAL Heat Treat Operator ITI Diploma & Mechanical

Experience with heat treatment equipment and processes (specifics will vary by role)

High school, diploma or equivalent technical training in metallurgy
