To ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and to create a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring safety policies and procedures across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Develop and implement safety management systems and emergency response plans.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety induction programs, and training sessions for workers and staff.
Maintain records of inspections, incidents, training, and safety meetings.
Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its availability and proper usage.
Coordinate with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure safety compliance.
Promote a positive safety culture across the organization.
Prepare and submit safety reports and documentation to the management and authorities.
Skills and Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of OSHA, Factories Act, and other relevant safety regulations.
Ability to conduct hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software/tools.
Attention to detail and proactive safety mindset.
Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):
ADIS (Mandatory)
NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / First Aid / Fire Safety Certification (Preferred)
