Job brief: The Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA) Leader reports to the Director, Strategic Access, Greater Asia, and General Manager, South Asia. The HEMA Leader will work closely with business leaders in the prioritization and development of HEMA strategies and lead the execution of HEMA projects. The HEMA Leader will lead the development of internal competencies to assess and demonstrate the value of BD Products. These include developing value proposition documents, economic models, outcomes research, reimbursement/HTA submissions, as well as publications, to inform reimbursement, product adoption and clinical practice, hence, improving patient access. The HEMS Leader will work closely with the Regional Strategic Access team and collaborate with business teams, Medical Affairs and Government Affairs. Internal engagement on strategy development and execution will be essential alongside effective external communications to key BD stakeholders such as providers, users, KOLs and payers. The primary working environment for the HEMA Leader is South Asia, with additional projects assigned in BD\'s Medical Delivery Systems (MDS) business for the rest of the Greater Asia markets. Responsibilities: Embed HEMA capabilities and success factors in BD business strategy and processes: Develop tools and training materials to conduct internal trainings to drive awareness around HEMA capabilities and strengthen the role in driving business growth. Participate/drive in continuous improvement efforts for commercial excellence by advising on key HEMA inputs in delivering holistic market shaping strategies. Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams to identify key issues related to product value evidence and formulate plans to proactively address and resolve any access issues. Partner with the cross-functional team to provide insight into market shaping/access requirements, guide execution of health economic endpoints especially when related to clinical demonstrations or clinical trial designs. Manage and execute prioritized HEMA projects/deliverables Collaborate with Global/Regional Market Access teams to localize value tools where needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare HTA/reimbursement submissions. Advise cross-functional teams on publication strategies to ensure that scientific data resulting from the execution of health economics / real world evidence are appropriately positioned in the public domain. Generate, evaluate, and refine evidence development and communication plans to create product value propositions for priority products. Manage external vendors where needed, e.g. RFP creation, project management, procurement processes, etc. Support the development of Regional Strategic Access strategies: Support BD\'s new product launch strategy by providing HEMA expertise to guide the development and commercialization of products. Contribute to regional and local evidence generation strategies including patient registries, patient reported outcomes studies, economic models, retrospective/prospective studies. Drive BD HEOR external thought leadership Establish external vendor/partner strategy to support overflow activities. Represent Greater Asia Strategic Access team in promoting BD HEOR thought leadership at external forums and societies. Take on HEOR leadership role(s) in professional societies to represent BD. Stay up-to-date on HEOR scientific methodologies and hot topics. Drive BD values Forster an environment that promotes Growth Mindset and health each other to bridge technical and knowledge gaps and share best practices. Connect with customers to understand unmet needs and work towards targeted solutions. Other responsibilities as assigned by management. Education & Experience: Candidate must have an advanced degree in one or more areas (ie. PhD, Pharm D, MSc, MPH, MD). Relevant disciplines include health economics, medicine, pharmacy, health services research, epidemiology, healthcare financing, and healthcare policy. Additional requirements include: Candidate must have a minimum of 12 years total work experience in the life-sciences/healthcare industry (examples include biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, government HTA agencies, or consulting). Prefer at least 5 years working in health economics and market access functions with new product launch experience within healthcare industry. Knowledge & Skills: Full understanding of HEOR work concepts, principles and practices with significant experience executing programs with moderate to high complexity and visibility Full understanding of India health care system. Understanding and experience of health care systems in other APAC markets is a preferred. Research and analysis skills required including: systemic literature reviews, secondary data analysis methods (ie. Meta-analysis), manuscript writing, excel based economic models ability to guide project teams in multiple technical areas (ie. statistical analysis, Decision Tree, Markov) Excellent communication, interpersonal, and corporate administrative skills, including presenting to large groups using business terms, and experience in training colleagues Project management to lead project team to meet critical milestones. Action-oriented, customer-focused, with effective prioritization, goal-setting skills.
