Healthcare Assistant (HCA) provides direct patient care and support under nurses, assisting with daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding), monitoring vitals (blood pressure, pulse, temp), ensuring patient comfort/safety, helping with mobility, and maintaining hygiene, all while reporting changes to the medical team, acting as a crucial link for comfort and basic health needs in hospitals, clinics, or homes. Key Responsibilities: Personal Care: Assisting with washing, dressing, eating, toileting, and mobility (lifting, repositioning). Health Monitoring: Checking and recording vital signs, collecting samples, and reporting changes to nurses. Patient Comfort & Support: Providing emotional reassurance, companionship, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. Support for Staff: Assisting nurses with procedures, preparing equipment, restocking supplies, and transporting patients. Hygiene & Safety: Maintaining cleanliness in patient rooms, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to health guidelines.
